I decided to get a different bulb for the outside door light. On my 2005 Chalet XL, this light is a round automotiove type bulb. I got the one below:
I got the cool white. 120 lumens (~+20 more than the flat wafer type bulb I put inside). Current draw listed at 175mA.
Cost was $18 + shipping.
It gives great light. My general feeling was that it gives off more light than the stock incandesant blub. Look below to see how well the light spreads; especially downward where you need it to see the steps.
It's either impossible to take a picture of this on and in the dark, or beyond my ability (that's a low threshold). Below is a shot with the exposure turned down as low as it could go. You can just make out the individual LEDs.
Again, I'm very happy with the results. Hopefully, at 30x the cost of a stock bulb, I hope they have a long life spam.
