LED Exterior Trailer Door Light

I decided to get a different bulb for the outside door light. On my 2005 Chalet XL, this light is a round automotiove type bulb. I got the one below:
I got the cool white. 120 lumens (~+20 more than the flat wafer type bulb I put inside). Current draw listed at 175mA.
Cost was $18 + shipping.

It gives great light. My general feeling was that it gives off more light than the stock incandesant blub. Look below to see how well the light spreads; especially downward where you need it to see the steps.
It's either impossible to take a picture of this on and in the dark, or beyond my ability (that's a low threshold). Below is a shot with the exposure turned down as low as it could go. You can just make out the individual LEDs.

Again, I'm very happy with the results. Hopefully, at 30x the cost of a stock bulb, I hope they have a long life spam.

LED Interior Trailer Lights

I thought I'd try and show a comparison of a new LED wedge base plug in bulb to the standard 1.5v wedge base bulbs that the Chalet comes standard with.

Here is the package

This is the "Warm White". It draws 195mA and gives off 98 lumens.

This picture is the new LED blub in a Chalet XL1910. The picture is color corrected, but otherwise un-edited. It is also intentionally underexposed and shot with manual settings. You can see the light is less warm (yellow) than the standard bulb, even when color corrected, but not too bluish. There is less spill on the ceiling, but good spread and coverage downward
The next picture is the standard bulb, the same exposure as above . More spill on the ceiling and the light is warmer. But the LED gives slightly better downward coverage. My eye tells me the LED is slightly brighter, but my camera seemed to think the standard blub was just slightly brighter. I'd have to say the light output of both lights is very close.
This is a correctly exposed shot of the LED. You see good coverage and brightness, with a light that is very acceptable in color to me.
Here is the light without the cover

Starcraft Starmate SD Tent Trailer

This is a 1988 Starcraft "Starmate SD" pop-up tent trailer. We bought it in 1990 and have kept it in good shape. It is an older trailer, but it is not a project. You can buy it today and camp in it tonight. If you're tired of sleeping on the ground in a tent, you will love this. You should be able to click on the pictures to get a larger view.
....

Price is $1200 (cash only). Look around at what other tent trailers are selling for on Craigslist and you won't find anything else in this size, in this kind of shape, for the same money.
...
It sleeps 5 adults (really). Two 50"x70" slide-out beds and one 39"x68" bed that converts into a table and benches. The canvas is in great shape and does not leak. There is also a BRAND NEW canopy the hangs over the doorway side that hasn't ever been set up. By itself, this is a $200 canopy.

There are no mechanical defects I know of, just light wear. We have never cooked in it and do not have the original stove, but all the gas lines and hook-ups are still there. It also has an electrical converter that we have never used (we didn't stay in RV parks).

In 2000 we noticed that the roof was getting soft in places. We lived near the Starcraft plant in Indiana, so we had them completely replace the roof assembly and the interior countertops at a cost of over $1600 (have receipt). The crank-up roof system works flawlessly.
...
There is a small crack in the crank-up dome, which I fixed with epoxy putty. It looks ugly and I always planned to replace it, but it is water tight and solid, so I never got around to it
...
It is easy to tow and connects to a two inch ball. I have wiring for both a standard 4 way and a 6 way connection. If you have the proper hook up the interior lights can run off the car battery. The trailer comes with a newer 20# propane tank (currently not connected to the gas lines trailer). The fire extinguisher was new as of last year.

...

The trailer comes with a water tank (about 7-8 gallons). The sink has a pump handle and you can connect a pressure water line on the side (again, we never did this). There is no gray water tank, simply a drain. You need to replace the washers in the pump handle every few years.

It is about 14' long when closed and 18' long when opened. The interior height is 78". Tires are in good shape. I repacked the bearings about two summers ago and have put only a few miles on her since, but it is about time to have them checked. It’s an easy job and the bearing themselves are only about 7 years old.
...
There is lots of storage. Look below and you see several cabinets and open space under the benches.
...
I did not lower the front door, nor zip up and tighten all the canvas when I took the pictures. Just know the door works fine and the canvas is tight all around.

Ask any questions you have and I will answer if I can. If you want to offer me less money, check back in a month or two and see if I still have it.

I have a clean title in hand and will require payment in cash. You can send e-mail to sandalow@hotmail.com.
